Tallinn, how blue and beautiful
Back in May, I treated myself to some time in Tallinn. When I landed after a short flight and officially began my next Baltic trip, it felt so sunny but so cold - yet also very welcoming and calming. Here are all the super sweet memories from that city.
Yes, including cats.
But first: kohv
Out of my saved places in Tallinn, the vast majority are for coffee. Around every little corner of the main square and even beyond it, you can spot modern, well-designed, cozy - or even a bit older and more traditional - cafes. By sheer luck, I booked the hotel next to everyone’s favorite Kiosk NO 1 - a local chain running a few different locations around town. This I can confirm: tasty beans, good oat milk, and very friendly staff. They can also sort you out with fresh bakes.

Cafe Maiasmokk A great representation of the second description: dark, chocolatey, wooden interiors, soaked in history. This warm-feeling cafe has been operating at the same location since 1864, now offering drinks, sweets, and marzipan treats, which are part of a well-known and proud tradition in Tallinn. In case of any doubts or questions about what to bring home in your suitcase, there is one simple answer: marzipan anything.

Where to be for dinner
Vegan Restoran V - a fully vegan menu from which I chose veggie-lentil lasagne, followed by house-made lemonade.
F-Hoone - classic fries plus garlic aioli and crunchy green salad, simple but comforting.
Store-bought snacks, perfect for the day or evening
Extra fun because life opens up when you decide to detour
Port of Tallinn To see and experience this blue-beautiful something not from afar, but directly under your toes.
Linnahall Free to walk around, Tallinn’s big 1980 Olympic hall. All raw and concrete, an interesting example of Brutalist architecture.
Kalamaja wooden district One of the oldest neighbourhoods in the city, known for its colourful wooden houses. Very easy to find, but incredibly nice to spend some time there.
Fantastic local guides
Kadriorg Art Museum A popular museum - hidden in a so-impressive-looking palace, devoted to early European pieces, but not only.
Town Hall Pharmacy, Sõprus Cinema, Oma Asi, Three Sisters
